ATDOR Tournament 2.0 released! | Print |
Saturday, 31 January 2009 21:39
We are proud to announce the release of version 2.0 of ATDOR Track and Field Meeting organisation software.

ATDOR is a unique, open source project that provide free distribution of this software without license costs. Free (as-is) community support is provided via the atdor website, www.atdor.com. ATDOR is licensed
under the GPL v2 license.

Professional support can also be provided: please contact ATDOR via the same website, www.atdor.com

The release will be called 'ATDOR Tournament' to indicate that this software can not only be used for normal Track and Field meeting events, but also for meetings where multiple rounds lead to series, semi-final and final rounds.

For long-time users of ATDOR, we have changed the way ATDOR is distributed. From now on, the program will be contained within one executable file that can directly be run. There is no need for an installation procedure, which simplifies the use and spread of the program.

ATDOR data files will be stored in the AtdorData folder in your home directory.

At this moment, only an English version and a Dutch version is available.

Main features:
  • Full overview of the meeting with a Time table as main opening screen.
  • Support for multiple categories for athletes and multiple events.
  • Support for Combined Events, including IAAF/KNAU point system. (*).
  • Support for connecting to a MySQL database (*).
  • Athlete database feature, remembers athletes from previous meetings.
  • Club database, can be filled with your own list of clubs.
  • Intermediate results recording that calculates best results from list of attempts (e.g. shot put or high jump).
  • Automatic distribution of athletes in rounds according to different methods (strong-to-weak, even distribution, random).
  • Support for FinishLynx electronic time synchronization. (*)
(*) Experimental features, may require extra assistence.

Outstanding issues, known problems:
  • Exiting ATDOR gives an error message. This is not harmful but may be annoying.
  • There is no full manual available. However, we hope ATDOR is intuitive enough to use without it. Manual pages will be added incrementally via the atdor.com wiki pages.
